I write this blog with a fountain pen by a mountain stream. Naturally, it found its way to the keyboard later once power and internet technology was within reach and not disturbing my peace LOL ;-)
A few days ago, I attended a wedding in the Blue Mountains. It was a beautiful heartfelt service. The joining together of a friend who I admired in the field of accupuncture. Her husband is a Taoist priest and their lives were joined in a breathtaking ceremony with mountain and garden surroundings. This is a contrast to their previous professions working in the IT industry prior to their move to natural health. The people in attendance were from their old world and new, making it quite a diverse in profession and of course, with the normal diverse family connections coming together. In this fast paced world, this seemed like a random invitation that intuitively felt like a good fit for me. Interestingly, my preference was to stay in a bush cave over night prior to the wedding. The morning before the wedding, I awoke from my nature land accommodation, bathed in a spring, and drove to the wedding. My attire and appearance was different (to say the least) but I was greeted with warmth and gratitude. Some locals in the mountain areas and town folk take a little work when I am warming to them with my ways. We all have our prejudices to work through. Many times when I am in diverse environments like this, whether it is an office meeting or a stranger in a more built up environment it is helpful to somehow remove barriers and fences and step into their shoes. The conversations were diverse and joyful at the wedding with much laughter and photographs under mountainous rainbows. These conversations included (but were not limited to) a passion for open source Linux volunteer computer software code and the IBM human genome project to my edible bush plants consumed in my cave abode by the fire. Naturally, more discussion on this natural living included meditation practice, edible wild plants, drinking spring water and bathing under water falls (I did not want to smell too bad for the wedding LOL). The diversity, challenges and blessings of the world are becoming clearer at present because of our connected state on so many levels. I find much joy in removing the fences between us all and all things to find a natural balance physically, mentally and spiritually. It is good to discern what is wrong with the world, but I do not like to trip over the same obstacles, but for me the solution is to become that which you wish to see in the world and put more energy into the solution without putting up more fences between others. This effects every cell of your body on a health level and also others around you through the way we behave and this quantum field we emit which is becoming more mainstream now that we can measure various characteristics of it. When retiring to my bush-land abode that evening to converse with a wombat by the fire and to meditate (after I'd pushed out a few emails and phone calls and web site updates), I reflected on the one simple truth. This truth is too simple to share to be believed ;-) A summary of health practices follows which I enjoyed in the bush and amongst people:- Deep breathing Meditation Conscious Walking Bare Foot Drinking spring water from natural sources Tibetan 5 Rights on a Rock (looks funny but works out there) Tai Chi Creative Writing Communing with native animals Observing plant life Eating living native foods (takes some practice. Some things are not edible LOL!) Removing barriers between all people and all things. Laughing and staying 'light' Singing to myself and playing guitar (I spared you of this, even with the wonders of technology ;-) ) Raw, organic food ;-)
